Great Produce = Great Fish & Chips

We make everything here at Shoal, from bread rolls to Gelato and we do it everyday.
This way we know exactly what goes into everything we sell and it allows us to source and use the very best ingredients, often from local Winchester producers and farmers.

Fish

At Shoal we believe in using only the best quality fish that has been responsibly sourced, MSC approved and from our Great British Waters. We pride ourselves on helping small & Independent Day Boats and fish markets around the UK and we have this amazing Fish delivered every day.


Cod & Haddock have always been the most popular fish served in the UK. 

Our prime cod and line caught haddock are caught in the ice-cold clear waters of Norway & Iceland from fisheries that are responsibly managing sustainable stocks. We also source fish from small independent day boats and fish markets in Cornwall and throughout the Uk. The Provenance of our fish comes from our absolute passion in delivering the very best traditional British fish n chips every time.


Prime Cod Loin - Succulent, Mild, Large Flake & Beautifully White, Still the nations favourite fish and by far our biggest seller at Shoal


Line Caught Haddock - A sweeter and meatier flavour than Cod with a beautiful firm texture.

Hand prepared on site, Very popular and always on the menu. 


Cornish Hake - delivered daily from market our hake is freshly cut from large thick fillets,

soft white flesh and a perfect fish for frying


Look out for our daily specials of great sustainable, tasty fish like Gurnard, Plaice, Brill, Flounder, Sole and much more. 

Chips

We are lucky enough to have an amazing potato supplier, supplying the finest quality potatoes to us throughout the year. They pick and sample each farms potatoes - sometimes down the individual field to make sure we have the best and most consistent potato throughout the year. The type and variety and provenance will always be on display at Shoal each and every day. 


Shoals Chips are peeled & chipped throughout the day from 9am-9pm so when fried they contain less oil, stay crisper & hotter for longer. The Chip room is one of the most important areas of our business and we spend a lot of time working towards the best possible chip for you all to enjoy. 

Pies

All our pies are made here at Shoal with our own all butter & suet rough puff pastry and the very best local Hampshire ingredients we can source.

Chicken

Our Fabulous rotisserie chickens are brined for 24 hours and cooked on our Rotisserie throughout the day here at Shoal. The brining process results in a juicy and very succulent chicken that is lightly seasoned and delicious

Gelato

Our Gelato ice cream is made here at Shoal, from pasteurisation, churning and flavouring with all-natural ingredients. We make and churn every day. Gelato has a silkier texture than normal ice cream so it carries flavour more intensely, it also has less Calories, Sugars & fats than ice cream. We think it’s very special indeed.
